- American odds
- odds expressed as a positive or negative number; positive shows profit on a $100 bet, negative shows how much you must bet to win $100.
- Asian Handicap
- a way to give one team a fictional lead or deficit to level the match for betting purposes.
- Back bet
- a bet that a particular outcome will happen, the opposite of a lay bet.
- Bankroll
- the total amount of money set aside for betting activities.
- Bet Builder
- a feature allowing you to combine several markets from the same match into one custom wager.
- Both teams to score
- a bet on whether each team will score at least one goal during the match.
- Cash Out
- an option to settle a bet before the match ends, locking in a profit or cutting a loss.
- Decimal odds
- a format expressed as a single number (e.g., 2.50) that includes your stake in the total return.
- Double chance
- a bet that covers two of the three possible outcomes of a match (win/draw, win/lose, draw/lose) in one wager.
- First goal scorer
- a bet on which player will score the opening goal of the match.
- Fractional odds
- a format shown as a fraction (e.g., 3/2) that indicates how much profit you make per unit staked.
- Free bet
- a no‑cost bet credited to your account that you can use to place a wager, usually with any winnings (minus the stake) returned.
- In-play betting
- placing bets on events while the match is already in progress, with odds that shift as the game unfolds.
- Kelly Criterion
- a formula used to determine the optimal size of a series of bets based on your edge and the odds.
- KYC
- "Know Your Customer," the process of verifying a bettor's identity to prevent fraud, underage gambling, and money laundering.
- Lay bet
- a bet that a particular outcome will not happen, typically used on betting exchanges.
- Moneyline
- a simple bet on which team will win the match, with odds reflecting each team's chance.
- Odds
- the number that tells you how much you can win relative to your stake; higher odds mean higher potential payout.
- Over/Under
- a bet on whether the total number of goals (or points) in a match will be higher or lower than a set number.
- Parlay
- a single bet that links multiple selections; all must win for the bet to pay out, increasing potential profit.
- Point Spread
- a margin set by the bookmaker that the favored team must exceed for a bet on them to win.
- Price boost
- a promotion that increases the odds on a specific selection, offering a higher potential payout.
- Stake
- the amount of money you risk on a bet.
- Value bet
- a wager where the odds offered are higher than the true probability of the outcome, giving an edge to the bettor.
- Void bet
- a bet that is cancelled and the stake is returned, usually because the event was postponed or the market was deemed invalid.
